Last week, we were happy to participate and exhibit at the CPhI Worldwide in Milan. Back as an in-person event, it was a real pleasure to be able to meet face-to-face again.

Today, we would like to thank everyone who came and visited us during this great event. We hope that you enjoyed the congress and that all business meetings reached your expectations.

Through the years, the CPhI has become the biggest fair in the pharmaceutical industry. During 3 days, it gathers professionals and suppliers from around the globe. After a break in 2020, this edition took place from Tuesday 09/11 to Thursday 11/11 at Fiera Milano.

After announcing our warehouse expansion in January, we are proud to inform you that we are increasing our storage capacity thanks to the acquisition of  a 1000m² warehouse.

This new facility named Eumedica Scailmont located close to our main site Eumedica Nauwelette is a step forward to meet the growing demand of storage from our current and new customers. Indeed, storing there any non-GDP material will enable us to free up some space in our GDP areas for pharmaceutical products in our main warehouse (-40°C, -20°C, 2-8°C, 15-25°C).

This expansion will definitely contribute to keep a high customers’ satisfaction, and to fulfil our mission: “Ensuring Medical Care Continuity “

It sounds like yesterday we announced the extension of our warehouse. Times flies and major milestones have been accomplished since January. Today, we’re happy to share with you some new views of the work progress.

This new 3000sqm warehouse is the logical continuation of former extensions and falls within our mission to ensure medical care continuity. With more GDP storage spaces and GMP rooms, it is designed to expand our activities and meet the constant growing demand:

• GDP storage for pharmaceutical products at 15-25°C; 2-8°C; -20°C and -40°C
• GMP rooms for labelling and packaging at 15-25°C; 2-8°C; -20°C

Today, we are celebrating the 6^th edition of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. This annual international day has been established to recognize the critical role women and girls play in science and technology. It is an opportunity to promote full and equal access to and participation in science for women and girls.On this occasion, we want to introduce you to our Medical Science Liaison Germany, Kristina Grimm.

Kristina, why have you chosen to step into the scientific world ?

I’ve always seen science as an adventure. You explore, investigate and develop new components. You are always at the forefront to learn and search something new. It’s all about facts. You can prove what you see. For these reasons I started my biologist studies at the University of Münster and Köln and I worked in a lab.

How working as a MSL make sense to you?

After obtaining my PhD and working in a lab in the US, I started my professional career as Account Manager for companies specialised in pharmaceutical products for rare diseases. While I enjoyed these experiences, I felt I missed the scientific part of it.

At Eumedica, as MSL for the German market, I help to ensure that our products are utilized effectively and serve as scientific support for the medical community and internal colleague. Moreover, I enjoy developing relationships with specialists who are involved in the infectiology research such as microbiologists and epidemiologists.

Being the link between both sides is very exciting and inspiring every day as, at my own scale, I contribute to making sure patients are treated in the most effective way.  

How is Eumedica different from other places you’ve worked at?

From the beginning, I felt that Eumedica believes in its people, and it doesn’t matter whether you’re a woman or a man. From my experience, I know it’s not always the case unfortunately. As from my job interviews at Eumedica I immediately thought that I was considered as an equal and that our discussions were more exchanges of experiences between two colleagues.

Besides, at Eumedica, while most of the activity is in Belgium, working abroad is not an issue. Indeed,  everything is put in place so it doesn’t matter where you work, you’re a strong member of the family.

What is AEO status?

The AEO is granted to companies who are involved in customs operations and international trade, and meet a range of strict criteria related to supply chain security. It shows that our business’ role in the global supply chain is secure and reliable. In other words, it seeks to create a frictionless relationship between us and customs authorities around the world, based on mutual confidence and integrity.

What are the advantages?

In the first instance, we have been awarded the Authorised Economic Operator Customs Simplification (AEOC) status. This certificate, not only recognises our reliability and stringent processes, but also allows us to benefit from:

• Easier admittance to customs simplifications     
• Priority treatment if selected for control
• Possibility to request a specific place for customs controls
• Fewer physical and document-based controls related to other customs legislation

The AEOC status is vital for our company to allow us to meet the global demands of our customers; expediting procedures to get our products to where they are needed, to help patients around the world.
